Realism 101: Upping the Intensity, The “Brush Pass”
When a Brush Pass [Street Delivery tradecraft skill] is attempted, you make your roll and you either succeed or you don’t. But, to up the intensity of espionage, roll for the NPC on the passing or receiving end of the pass—-what if they fail their roll and fumble the pass? What happens to the item to be passed, does it get kicked around the floor only to pass under a door and into a room; does someone with gum on their shoe step on the paper and walk away with it stuck to their sole; is a counter intelligence agent surveilling one of the parties, sees the fumble, then retrieves the item for themselves; or does nothing happen, and the agent scrambles to find the item?
